Here we are, a year down the line Time has always been a friend of mine I don’t believe in fate and I never had a clue How time is always one step ahead of you Tick tick tick tick tick Always working and never knowing when to stop Open up the door and question why you can’t escape Time has kept us inside for too long Easy to forget how to behave out there in the wild world When I see you I don’t know the way to be If time is a healer and our wounds can no longer be seen Take your time, take your time It’s in front of you Don’t run away don’t run away Whatcha got to lose? I know you well I know you well I know you’re out for yourself Are you afraid? Are you afraid of yourself? Are you afraid of the dark? Tick tick tick tick Are you afraid of the dark? Tick tick tick tick Are you afraid of the dark? When I see you I don’t know the way to be If time is a healer and our wounds can no longer be seen Here we are, a year down the line Time has always been a friend of mine Tick tick tick tick tick

This is a war of words my friend And it’s a war that none of us can win Back and forth, going nowhere This is a war of words my friend And it’s a war that none of us can win Back and forth, back and forth now It’s out of our control It’s out of our control It’s out of our control It’s out of our control

Don’t look back - keep moving on Maybe you were right and I was wrong Got beaten up, keep falling down It’s time for us to turn it round You think it’s harder for you? You think it’s harder for you? I think it’s harder for me You think it’s harder for you? You think it’s harder for you? I think it’s harder for me Oh believe me I know just what it’s like to feel alone Like strangers in a choir all singing different songs And I know, I know, two wrongs don’t make a right But we just cannot give up without a fight You think it’s harder for you? You think it’s harder for you? I think it’s harder for me You think it’s harder for you? You think it’s harder for you? I think it’s harder for me I’m chasing shadows round the walls I’m chasing shadows round the walls It’s time to see, you’ve got to let it go I’m letting go!

Mend your aching bones Mend your aching bones By your side we’ll nurse you ’til we mend your aching bones Everyone will know Anyone will tell you You’ll climb back on your throne Mend your aching bones Maybe your time is now Maybe your time is now Maybe it’s far too late - or maybe Maybe your time is now If this is the only way it can be Come back to me If this is the only way it can go Then mend your aching bones You fell right down from the top of the tree And resting here is not where you should be By your side, it won’t be in vain Before someone steals your throne Mend your aching bones If this is the only way it can be Come back to me If this is the only way it can go Then mend your aching bones Turn to face the water It’s nearly time to go Torn with every whisper Reaping what you sow With open eyes we know how this will go Do you know why we bother? If this is the only way it can be Come back to me If this is the only way it can go Then mend your aching bones

A to B 01:43
I spend my time rushing from A to B I put the fires out and try to keep the peace How much do I have to sweat To get your attention and earn all your respect? Could there be something more than this? Because I’ve climbed the rungs and I’ve earned the wage To be more than just a footnote on a page

Robot Song 03:24
Do your worst Come and be the only one Disengage between a father and a son Live and learn, live and learn, live and learn is all I hear Live and learn, live and learn, live and learn is all I hear Do your worst Come and be the only one Disengage between a father and a son Live and learn, live and learn, live and learn is all I hear Live and learn, live and learn, live and learn is all I hear Live and learn, live and learn, live and learn is all I hear Live and learn, live and learn, live and learn is all I hear Tonight we go against the grain I hurt you once and took the blame To reunite unless we know Or hide across the velvet skies So open wide and suck it in I feel it move across my skin To reunite unless we know Or hide away

We started to cry as the credits faded Blurring the names out of focus We stayed to the end, ’til the music died Then we trudged out in silence There is no reason but profit and gain Childhood visions go up in flames No-one arrives and now we leave I heard a rumour that they’re burning it to the ground One more day ’til they start a fire Boiling reels and melting screens No more sequels in their eyes But DVDs are not the same Is this even real? Do we have a choice? How would we ever get to see Lord of the Rings, or Avatar in miraculous 3D? The recession is a myth they control Don’t take the culture from this place I call home We sit around waiting passive for a sequel But there’s no light, there’s no sound Still we’re starting at the screen It survives for now but it’s just a matter of time Don’t push me closer to the end of the line Are you with us? Have you heard? They’re burning it to the ground! One more day ’til they start a fire Boiling reels and melting screens No more sequels in their eyes But DVDs are not the same Is this even real? Do we have a choice? How would we ever get to see Lord of the Rings, or Avatar in miraculous 3D?

Yours To Fix 03:22
Take a breath, take a breath Kick off your shoes and give yourself a well-earned rest That’s the way, that’s the way to come around here I’m a man of my word Don’t be afraid of the dangers we overlooked All the joy, all the love will come around again Maybe it’s not all as bad as you think Other people’s problems are not yours to fix Maybe it’s not all as bad as you think Other people’s problems are not yours to feel This isn’t really you You just need to recover That’s the way, that’s the way to come around again Know yourself, know yourself What will you find if you peel back all the layers? All the joy and the love will come around again Maybe it’s not all as bad as you think Other people’s problems are not yours to feel Maybe it’s not all as bad as you think Other people’s problems are not yours to, yours to feel Yours to, yours to fix Yours to, yours to feel Yours to, yours to fix Yours to fix

Just like a book that never opens And like a house with no windows and doors I know you want to be forgotten But there's so much work to be done And we're half way there (to get what we deserve) And we're half way there (don't say another word) And we're half way there So close, but only if we overcome our fear The fear of change Believe me, I know it's hard I know it's been too long Like strangers in a choir all singing different songs So meet me on the moon If one of us goes too soon I know we'll find a place where we belong And we're half way there (to get what we deserve) And we're half way there (don't say another word) And we're half way there So close, but only if we overcome our fear The fear of change The fear of change The fear of change The fear of change The fear of truth The fear of choice and pain The fear of change The fear of change

Powerdown 02:43
Suddenly we've lost all feeling Electrical failures, daylight stealing Sorry my eyes don't realise what they're seeing All the times that I buried my feelings Taking the light, I say Taking the light, taking the light Where's it all gone wrong? Left without a word Powerdown, powerdown, powerdown is what I heard Every single day, electricity fades Powerdown Candles alight and the fires are dying Thunder outside and it's hardly surprising Sorry my eyes don't realise what they're seeing All the times that I buried my feelings Taking the light, I say Taking the light, taking the light Where's it all gone wrong? Left without a word Powerdown, powerdown, powerdown is what I heard Every single day, electricity fades Powerdown 'Cause I'm just a stone throw away from silence And I cannot linger We won't be rid of this So cut your losses and take me home Candles alight and the fires are dying Thunder outside and it's hardly surprising Sorry my eyes don't realise what they're seeing All the times that I buried my feelings Taking the light, I say Taking the light, taking the light Where's it all gone wrong? Left without a word Powerdown, powerdown, powerdown is what I heard Every single day.....

I had to catch my train, so I ran as fast as I could go I had to make my name in the world, so I climbed and I climbed and I climbed Chaos always finds you Silence won’t protect a tiger in a burning tree Chaos always finds you Silence won’t protect you Tiger in a burning tree I’m going to let you into a secret I never quite believed that all you need to do to get by in this world Is to get up early, put on a suit and head of to the train Not any more! Because we drown in our work And we’ll sweat until we burst And if you open up your eyes to see the world You’ll know we have to find a new way Because chaos always finds you Silence won’t protect you Tiger in a burning tree Chaos always finds you Silence won’t protect you Tiger in a burning tree Burning tree Burning tree
13.
Who can I blame if we no longer see eye to eye? Maybe you just took me for a fool Because suddenly reality comes crashing into view Egg on my face for thinking that I could depend on you Maybe I should accept that what we have is gone Outside of the circle and I’m trying to move on What’s next for us now we’ve lost everything we know? Suddenly we’re strangers and everything’s for show Suddenly the world is so much bigger now we’re alone I never thought we’d aim at different stars I never thought we’d aim at different stars Always searching for someone to blame I never thought we’d aim at different stars I never thought we’d aim at different stars I never thought we’d aim at different stars I never thought we’d aim at different stars

Back to Life 01:36
The way it looks to me, it's clear we're heading for a war So good luck to us all, whatever we are fighting for And so I'm clinging on to these memories They're gonna bring you back to life Instead of running away, instead of hiding We're gonna bring you back to life Like a broken soldier we're gonna bring you back to life Because you opened our eyes I promise you will come back as though you've never been away I know what you're thinking - what an incredible thing to say And so I'm clinging on to these memories They're gonna bring you back to life Instead of running away, instead of hiding We're gonna bring you back to life Like a broken soldier we're gonna bring you back to life And everything will be alright in the end Atchoo!!

about

"After releasing 'Meet Me On The Moon' last year, I wanted to do something different this time around. MMOTM was a concept album with a pretty heavy theme, and this time I wanted to make something that painted in all colours (hence the album cover).

There's a real mix of styles on Sunsneezer - heavy rock, metal and punk at points, along with 90s Brit-pop, electro and some jazzy moments. I wanted to make an album that has loads of variety but still sounds like me, and I'm really proud of it.

Some of these songs are 10 years old, such as Robot Song and Death of a Cinema, which Sim and I wrote together and played in our first few Last Chance To Escape gigs. There's an old Inertia Reel song too, Powerdown, which I have reworked, and the original was made way back in 2003! But some of the other tunes, like 'Yours To Fix' and 'Tiger in a Burning Tree', were written in 2022. It was quite a task trying to decide which songs to include and which ones to leave for a future album - there are around 10 others that have been recorded but didn't make the cut.

There's such a range of styles here, so I hope people will find something they enjoy. I was very inspired by Daniel Johns, who released FutureNever this year and every song is completely different to the next. FutureNever felt like a really random mixtape, and with Sunsneezer I wanted to make an album with a similar vibe - an audio collage of all different parts of what I enjoy listening to and performing."
